Editing an E-mail Account in Outlook ExpressAgain on the Outlook Express toolbar, select the Tools > Accounts button. On the screen, select the Mail tab and you will get a screen similar to Figure 2-8.![]() First select the account you want to edit. Then select properties. You will get a screen similar to Figure 2-9. ![]() On the first screen, General - Item 1, you can correct your E-mail Address. There are also other useful features here. In the Reply address box, Item 2, you can enter a different Reply address. This is useful if you use different ISPs during the year, i.e. you have winter location and a summer location with different ISP providers. You could get a Yahoo E-mail address and use it as a common address at both locations. There is also an option (Item 3) to select if this E-mail account will be downloaded when you click on the Send and Receive button on the Outlook Express toolbar. You may have a SPAM account or an inactive account that you do not want to download, but you want to retain for some possible future use. If so, uncheck this button.
If your Outgoing mail server requires authentication, you can also set it up on this tab by selecting the appropriate box and clicking on Settings. Note, when you go to set up the account, the option to set up an Outgoing Mail Server authentication is not available. Thus if this is required, you will need to add it via this editing process. The Connection and Security tabs do not usually need to be edited and are not discussed here. However the Advanced Tab as shown in Figure 2-11 When you are using a POP3 account, you may want to use the Deliver option. If you check Leave a copy of message on server when you download your E-mail to Outlook Express, a copy of it will be left on the server. If for some reason you want the E-mail on your computer and also be able to access it also from another computer or the Web, check this box. You can also have it automatically removed at a later date using the box below this option.
