Using AOL 8.0 - Sending an E-mailAOL is the largest supplier of ISP and E-mail in the United States (and has the highest priced dial up service). They supply a number of special or custom services to make it easier to use. Figure 2-18 shows the AOL 8.0 desktop with a new E-mail form. To create a new E-mail, click on the Write button. You will need to send it To someone. Your E-mail addresses are saved in your Address Book. Click the Address Book to open it. There is an easier way to gather E-mail addresses. If you go to Settings and select Preferences (see Figure 2-20), Now that you have an address book, you are ready to send an E-mail. Click on the Write icon (see Figure 2-18) and you will get a blank E-mail. Note to send an E-mail there must be at least one address in the To box. Click on your Address Book and give you the screen shown in Figure 2-19. At the top of the screen is a blank Look Up field where you can type in part of the name you want to find and the address area will scroll to that area. When you find the name you want, click on it to add it to your To list. However, you may want to send the E-mail to many people and at the same time not reveal the various E-mail addresses to other recipients. To do this, send the E-mail to yourself and for all of the recipients, as you select their names, click on the Blind Copy box (Figure 2-19, item 3). The person receiving the E-mail will only be able to see your E-mail address. You should include a Subject in your E-mail. Some E-mail systems will reject the message is the subject line is left bank. SPAM filters often delete messages that have blank Subject lines.
